Good morning. Today is Independence Day in Guinea (from France in 1958). It’s celebrated as an autumn festival in Iran. On this day in history, Jacques Cartier landed at Hochelaga, which is now known as Montreal, in 1535. Here in Alberta, there were several more recent news stories of interest to UNA members and staff:

Alberta sets ambitious target for flu shots

Alberta is gearing up for the flu season with an ambitious plan to almost double the number of people who get flu shots. Alberta Health Services says it has ordered more than 2 million doses of vaccine and hopes 45 per cent of people in the province will roll up their sleeves to be immunized.
