UNA Local 115 Positions for 2016 Election

PRESIDENT: The Local President is the senior executive officer of the Local, responsible to represent Local members in all employment matters, and generally oversees the business of the Local. The President ensures the business of the Local is conducted in accordance with the UNA Constitution and Bylaws and the UNA Policies and Procedures. The President ensures an Annual General Meeting of the Local is held each year before December 31. This is a full-time position.

TREASURER: All Local finances are entrusted to the Local Treasurer, who is responsible for managing the centralized accounting process at the Local level. The Treasurer must also ensure the safekeeping of funds and report to Local Executive members at every meeting on the status of Local funds. This is a part-time position. Time commitment is 15.5hrs per week for 48 weeks.

PRC COMMITTEE (2 positions): PRC Committee members are leaders who demonstrate advocacy, administrative skills, written and verbal communication, problem solving and decision making, sensitivity to people and a focus on results. This committee involves extensive work with DMS and First Class, and will require strong computer skills. Duties include investigating PRC reports, educating membership, attending PRC prep and joint committee meetings and assisting in PRC related matters (such as town hall meetings and presentations to the CEO). Time commitment is approximately 10 hours per month (7 hours funded by UNA, 3 hours funded by AHS).

OH&S COMMITTEE (1 position): UNA OH&S Committee members are leaders who demonstrate advocacy, administrative skills, written and verbal communication, problem solving and decision making, sensitivity to people and a focus on results. This committee involves extensive work with DMS and First Class, and will require strong computer skills. UNA OH&S Committee members presents concerns to the OH&S Committee in the workplace. Duties will include investigating OH&S reports, educating membership, attending OH&S prep and joint committee meetings and assisting in OH&S related matters (such as town hall meetings and presentations to the CEO). Time commitment is approximately 10 hours per month (7 hours funded by UNA, 3 hours funded by AHS).

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE (2 positions): Communications Committee role is to provide and maintain internal communications with the 115 membership. This position requires will involve working with organizations and individuals outside of the union, extensive computer work, extensive work with DMS and First Class, familiarity with multiple productivity programs. Duties include promotion of meetings, booking meeting spaces, maintain Local 115 social media platforms, writing news articles, interviewing persons of interest, publication of the local newsletter. Time commitment is approximately 7 hours per month.
